Happy Canada Day! Today I spend some of my time at Queens Park for their Canada Day Party. After the singing of O Canada and Opening remarks by His Honour, Lieutenant Governor David C. Onley, and Ontario Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, the Honourable Michael Coteau it was onto some performances. There was a Aboriginal Dance called the Hoop Dance; a French Canadian Musical Performance; along with many other performances.
Around the park were all kinds of events including an area for Foodland Ontario with smoothies and a farmers market! For the younger crowd they had a Children’s stage, inflatables , a video game section and roaming performers. There was also a BBQ and food area , as well as a Dance Performance stage.
While at the park the Lieutenant Governor David C. Onley’s office was open to the public. There was a massive display covering many walls showing the Queen along with the Lieutenant Governor over the years. This photo was lots of fun as it caught just that – the Queen having fun!
The event was running from 12 noon to 5 pm ; giving visitors lots of time to go home for a rest before finding fireworks. You bet some of those strawberries and cherries followed me home!
